“Pure, uncompromising ecstasy. Personally, I call this kind of ride ‘rascal jazz’ – full of rebellion, defiance, a sharp punk nerve, and rock dirt, all bathed in avant-garde electronics. Most importantly: this sound is absolutely unique and recognizable from the very first second.”

ROBERT KOZUBAL – jazzda.net

“Trickster Music navigates within the jazz-punk aesthetic, where energy, grit, and a certain controlled chaos take precedence over polished harmonies or a conventionally understood jazz narrative. It is an album that provokes rather than invites, putting resistance rather than trying to please.”

Mateusz Chorążewicz – Polish Jazz

“In their promotional note, the Dr Zolo trio writes that they play ‘avant-jazz with a punk edge and electronic chaos. Without overdubs. Without seatbelts.’ They also claim to create music for fans of ‘John Zorn, Mr Bungle, The Comet is Coming, Critters Buggin.’ How do these declarations hold up in reality? So-so”
